The information that has now come to light through Reuters and AutoNews is that Tesla has sent requests for quotes for a new model to their suppliers, with the code name Redwood. Production could begin in June 2025, with a volume forecast of 10,000 cars a week. “Redwood” could be the $25,000 Tesla that the electric car manufacturer first talked about in 2020.
Tesla owner Elon Musk confirmed in December that the company is working on a cheaper model that will be produced in much higher volumes. He also added that the new model will stand for a revolution in car manufacturing.
