Through a collaboration with Einride, Heineken will be using electric trucks between the brewery in Den Bosch, the Netherlands, and the distribution center in Duisburg, Germany.
– Decarbonisation of logistics plays a key role in reaching Heineken’s net zero goal. Battery electric technology is one of the most prominent approaches to sustainable road freight and Einride has the knowledge, network and experience to offer long-term capacity for electric and competitive freight mobility, says Arjen van der Woude, Director Strategic Sourcing Supply Chain at Heineken.

The project involves an overall solution delivered by Einride. This solution includes a fleet of five Mercedes eActros 300 and the establishment of charging infrastructure from Kempower with renewable energy. On top of that is integration of the AI-powered mobility platform Einride Saga, which controls the entire ecosystem. Einride already has some experience in the industry since they helped the brewery Carlsberg with a similar project in Sweden last year.
